The flight that never was
From Madrid, cooped up on the plane for three hours and then bussed off to a hotel for the night after much chaos, mayhem and frayed tempers on the part of some would-be passengers!
According to the captain's announcement on the replacement flight to Havana the following day, the problem was a failure in computer supervision/double-checking of one of the engine fire extinguishers. Apparently, though the extinguisher probably would have worked (if it had been necessary — yikes!), transatlantic crossings are not permitted unless the computer supervises them all correctly.
