Today I have travelled by (in order) : foot, bus, ferry, train, foot, bus, foot, bus, foot. I left Lamlash at 8.45am and reached home at 4.30pm.

The UCI World Championships Paracycling Road Events are taking place in Dumfries and Galloway over the next few days and some roads are closed, so I wasn't sure where to catch the bus back home. I walked across town and was reminded of the Camino - hot weather and a heavy backpack. The perspiration was running down my face!

I arrived home, put down my pack, changed my trousers and quickly cycled down to Routin Brig to catch the last event of the day - the Women's C4 Individual Time Trial. There was quite a wee crowd of us cheering them on.

Apologies for the poor quality of the photo, which shows the winner, World Champion Samantha Bosco, whizzing around the corner followed by the cameras.

I'd better go and unpack now - back to work tomorrow!
