LONDON
Feeling shattered after a long day of walking in the city. Hence the middle photo, as Mollie and I have treated our feet to a foot mask, and we are now relaxing in our travelodge near King's Cross.
Our day began early, and Jon kindly drove us to Cromer, to catch the 7.23 train to Norwich, where we changed and were then on our way to London. We arrived at 10.20 and headed to Spitalfields Market. Mollie had never been there, and we both needed a coffee by then. To Mollie's great excitement there was a branch of 'Gail's' - a favourite coffee shop of hers. We were tempted by a shop selling freshly made samosas and bajis. We bought two of each, and ate our samosas for breakfast with the coffee.
After a browse in the market, where I made a couple of small cheap purchases, we then walked to King's Cross to our Travelodge. It was a 50 minute walk, extremely hot and our rucksacks were heavy. But on the way down, I had paid an extra £10 for an early check in, and it was definitely the right thing to do. It meant we could check in at 12 instead of 3. So we were in and relieved of our rucksacks for the rest of the day. We showered to cool down, then went out with just our bumbags and water bottles, for an afternoon at The Natural History Museum and Harrods. We used the tube, but it didn't shop us from feeling totally shattered by the end of the day. We got back at about 6.45 and ate the lunch we brought with us.
My legs are definitely feeling the 18000 plus steps we have done today. I have had a warm bath to try and relax them, but I don't think they appreciated it! I just hope I can move tomorrow!
Now enjoying the foot masks....then possibly an early night!
