Not as expected

I spent this afternoon at Cambridge Botanical gardens with Nabil Ali ( known to some blippers) to make the dye for my workshop on Monday.
Unfortunately something ‘went wrong’ and the dye has turned out pale lilac. 
Fortunately we have found some purple poppies, but it’s slightly disappointing.
See extra for the prototypes I made using turmeric dyed leather, a purchased red leather, and one dyed with a procion dye. 
Unfortunately I don’t have the capabilities or materials to dye more leather for Monday,  so we will be making lilac flowers
