Pastoral Scene!
A very early (0500) start for the drive down to Poole from Bolton because traffic in the area rapidly builds up.....such heavy traffic is, to be honest, pretty bizarre to us as we have got used to a somewhat slower pace, I guess!
Thanks to the early start we got to Poole about 1hr early and enjoyed a pleasant "chill".
As Daisy was with us (bit subdued without Mr Casper) we found a lovely grassy park area bordering the harbour and it was really delightful. I think Poole is a rather nice spot, at least the the parts which we saw in beautiful warm sunshine.
This particular tidal area was a huge playground for a myriad of different birds and the ones which most caught our eye were the beautiful swans!
This blip shows a lady swan sitting on her eggs in the rushes!.
Our attention was drawn to her by her lifelong husband, who was aggressively patrolling the area and marshalling all the other swans away from her nest and, he really meant business.
Strangely he didn't seem to mind ducks, seabirds or the Canadian Geese from coming near, it was just the swans who got an earful.
We are back in Guernsey now and will be able to catch up with our comments and responses...promise!
