He's forever blowing...Dandelions!
I took my grandsons up to show him the Damselflies, Dragonflies, Spiders, Slugs & the Green Bugs after School, he was so excited and couldn't wait to get there! Once we arrived I had to carry him through some boggy ground ( didn't want to get his school clothes and shoes dirty, daughter would have gone ballistic with me)
Anyway, at the waters edge, we both kneeled down and fixed our eyes around the pond trying to located any of the above, while whispering, Well as luck would have it, weather changed ( as it does here in Scotland in a flash) got very dark and cloudy quickly and at one point I thought Thunder was coming, he asks, Grampa! Can you see the Dragonflies? No I said, lets move to higher ground and we'll walk among the wild flowers and I'll show you those Green Bugs I was telling you about, oh, ok! So we set off, then as we approached the grassland area, he says with a panic voice.. Em Grampa. Do they bite? Does what bit I ask.. You know, the big green bugs! I had to laugh out loud. No Josh, they don't bite & there not big either, come on I'll show you. Now having left my reading glasses in the car, I knew the area I took the photos yesterday.. But for some reason that particular flower & bugs was Gone? So I ask him to look at the other flower heads and the stems. I'm crawling about straining my eyes to try and locate them, when he Shouts.. Grampa Ive found them!! And so he did, who needs glasses when you've a 5 year old with you lol
He pointed out small spiders, Caterpillars, and believe it or not a Red Damselfly : )
But like most 5 year olds, the " when are we going home" was uttered every 20 seconds while I struggled to take shots of the tiny spider. In a minute son, in a minute!
All went quiet , I look up, he's not there! Josh I shout as I jumped up. I'm here Grampa, look what Im doing... And the photo was him in his glory lol
