Playing life by ear.

Scruffy old gate, 2

Having removed most of the grot, I gave it a coat of nautical paint containing zinc and a rubbery substance. We put in on the hull of our boat in 1986 and it still survives to this day. Since then we have used it as a protective coat against the elements many times, especially on metal.
Once again the radio channel kept me company.
It helps me to stay calm, peaceful and rational which isn't always easy as the family conflict.  continues.
The toughest time is when swimming. I'm grateful for the occasional passing cloud, plane or bird to give the clear blue sky a moment of interest. I can't imagine how people who swim seriously manage to cope with the tedious up and down for hours on end. I am doing it solely for the health benefits. To be honest, I feel much stronger and fitter with fewer aches and pains.
