Cycle relay across the Borders

We tried a different way to get to Peebles, so drove to Langholm and then cycled in stages, one riding, one taking the car - worked a treat (and yes I somehow did more than my share of downhill).  We went on the back roads via Newcastleton, Hawick, Alemoor and Innerleithen, all very peaceful and picturesque.  
Perhaps it could be included in the World Championships, without the velodrome and crowds?
