The Monster

The lesser hornet hoverfly. I have seen these creatures regularly around the pond over the last few weeks but this one is absolutely enormous. In fact I took a double take at first in case it was a hornet. But it is definitely a hoverfly. He has clearly been eating his spinach as he was twice the size of the last one I saw.
