The hills of Harris
Yesterday was a typical (for me) Tarbert day - dull and drizzly. We mooched around the islets and skerries of East Loch Tarbert, seeing not much at all and taking no photos.
Today we took the slow drive to Huishnish pier and crossed to Scarp. After sampling big swell off the S of the island for long enough to decide we didn't want to be there, we headed to the sanctuary of the east side of the island, where there are the interesting ruins of many blackhouses plus at least one occupied croft.
On the return paddle, via the mouth of Loch Resort, we had good views of a juvenile (golden?) eagle. We assumed it was a juvenile because of it's clumsy and incompetent landings on the sea cliffs, watched by a circling parent bird.
