Gena and Terri came to visit this morning and it was great to see them. We last got together about six months ago, after almost three years without seeing each other due to Covid. We spent two hours just sitting out on the terrace and talking. They both really look older, Terri particularly has gotten even thinner and grayer. Gena has put on a bit of weight, which looks good on her. Thinking about them after they'd left for home, I suddenly remembered that Gena is now 87 years old and felt a painful anticipation of loss. I'm going to try to ensure that we can get together more frequently, meeting for lunch in Edmonds.
I took a walk along the gardens on the west side of the building and there were lots of flowers. But it was so bright that I couldn't see the picture in the camera and had to guess the right way to hold the camera. So a lot of them just didn't come out well. This little plot of begonias was a standout.
