Handwriting

When I was in Primary school, great importance was placed on handwriting. You got a red line if the letter was not straight or went below the line or if it wasn’t sitting on the line. I had quite a few red lines in my jotter.
I found a shoebox of of postcards in our loft that I had saved and I was thinking that many had much nicer handwriting than we see now. It was also interesting to note that the one to Castle street from Edinburgh only cost 2d to post. It is less than 1p today . The date is 1956
