A visit to The Ovens Park today with the Dartmouth Photo Society. I joined the group during covid and attended some zoom meetings, then last fall they had some in person meetings and I was able to go to them. This is the first outing I have been on with them. The 6 people that went were all executive members, I was the only non-executive one there. But they did talk to me and 4 of us stayed together on the trail. Two went about 3/4 of the way along the trail and one decided to return to the beach after walking the first 100 yards on the trail.
The trail was a bit muddy in places from the rain yesterday but overall it was in good shape. There are steps to go up to get to the end of the trail, and there are lots of steps to go down to some of the viewing platforms.
The Ovens has sea caves. The tide was low when we were there today and it was calm. Some of us want to go back in the fall when the leaves change color, and we want to be there when the tide is high and would prefer a windy day to see some of the waves.
After we left The Ovens, we stopped at a pub in Mahone Bay and had lunch. A nice day out with other photographers.
