OUTA MY WAY
On my way to see Kellogg (Jan 1st entry) who was sleeping soundly on the ramp, a family of Canada Geese swam ashore and disembarked. The 4 or 5 babies kept walking and crossed the threshold from roped=off safe Bird territory, to that of the car-parky and altogether more risky, Human zone.
I lay on the ground and the tiny squeaking things scooted all over the place.
Ma & Pa tried to remain cool, but now and then gave a loud honk (acted upon by offspring) and a disdainful hiss (aimed in my direction).
This plucky little gosling had the most spectacular feet.
And they emit a noise rather like a soft old-fashioned whistling kettle.
It's gorgeous.
