Garage
Saturday is, of course, housework day in the Flossmo household. But, because we had done a good clean the previous week, I suggested to Mr Flossmo that we do the basics then make a start on decluttering the garage. I'm not sure that Mr Flossmo was truly excited by the idea but he agreed anyway. He changed the bedclothes and put the washing on whilst I cleaned the kitchen and did a quick vacuum then we decamped to the garage.
Oh what a lot of 'useful' stuff we have accumulated over the years. There was a time when I would have wanted to keep a lot of it but, with some poignancy, it has become increasingly clear that we will never need/use it again. So we set up different boxes for wood, metal and plastic waste and set to, sorting each shelf in turn. A few items have been set aside for re-homing the rest were loaded into the car and taken to the recycling centre. Even though we worked until late afternoon we are far from finished, there is still at least another day's work left to do.
After dinner we watched the first two episodes of the 1980s TV series about the life of Robert Oppenheimer. We have yet to see the film and it will be interesting to compare.
The photograph is of a flower display tub, which we passed on the way to the recycling centre; a bit of colour in an otherwise mostly dull day.
