Art and Flute

We got up early and headed to Pittenweem for the annual art fair. On and off rain didn’t stop us enjoying the wander around all the various open studios and galleries and we had a nice cuppa and caramel wafer with @weeartyfarty where S had bought a painting ahead of the show…satisfying to be one of the red stickers ina nearly sold out show. After we8d chatted to them we wandered further and along the harbour with its many studios….still busy despite it being the last day of the show. S also got another ceramic tile picture of two women having tea and cake together and later I got a lovely ceramic fish for on my kitchen shelf, but otherwise it was more about browsing. We had some food at the scout hall…a bacon roll for S and I had lentil soup that my spoon literally stood up in…delish!
Home late afternoon and wolfed down some leftovers from last night before walking over to the Usher Hall for a concert staging of the Magic Flute with the SCO. Excellent voices from the principal parts and beautiful music but overall we both felt a bit underwhelmed, particularly by the strange narration and attempt at Scottish humour in (we think) an extra Papageno. Odd! Still, the key elements were good.
Home and watched a couple of episodes of Extraordinary Portraits on iPlayer,,. Interesting
