Thai curry in Earlston
It’s raining when we wake. Eventually we get round to brunch (tomato and bacon omelette/pizza) and banana bread. Then we get down to business - reconciling the last quarter, paying expenses, submitting a VAT return. We even look into overpayment of a student loan.
The afternoon is dry with a warm, sultry wind. We do the river walk and, as usual, meet no one. Then it’s to Sue and Gordon’s for a long awaited gathering.
Gordon is still at work, but Leila and Joe (who created Blipfoto back in the day) are there with Prosecco and vegan sushi. Later Sue serves up a delicious Thai curry - and shares the recipe.
I’ve been trying halfheartedly to charge my car all day. Now the charger is being used by a guy in a Tesla. He’s watching a movie and isn’t intending to adhere to the social contract of 45 minutes. He knows he’s supposed to, he knows he’ll be charged an overstay fee, he just doesn’t care.
I head out at 11:45 to get the car charged for tomorrow, leaving Kerry to sleep.
