Man Versus Ice Cream, Aylesford

This morning started with a run before breakfast with my brother. My back was playing up so for the first few minutes it was a bit of struggle but it gradually eased off the further I got into it. After that, it was a sit down to watch the Premier League highlights with a cold can of Red Bull!
Our plan was to go for a long walk but the weather intervened (more dark skies and rain showers) so instead we went back to the village pub for a pint and a half each and a bag of crisps. Sometimes the simple things are the best. The friendly barmaid even commented on my haircut (from the barbers just down the street). By the time we sat down to sup our pints the sun, of course, appeared. The view across the river is rather lovely but I was lucky enough that another customer had popped in for a 99 or two (another of their sidelines!) and there was today's shot.
After getting in a bit of food shopping (and yet more rain showers) we settled down to watch another episode of the bloody brilliant Poker Face starring the wonderful Natasha Lyonne. I can't recommend this enough as it just so beautifully put together in every single way.
A downside of where we live some weekends is that our "lovely" neighbours decide it is Power Tool Weekend. We had one who took it to another level by deciding to jet wash his driveway for two days solid in the winter when it was pissing it down with rain. By day two it was driving me round the bend and I let him know, turns out he was a policeman who told me to F*CK OFF very loudly indeed. Such a gentleman. Just knock on my door and say "sorry about the noise", say how long you think it's going to take and then I can pop down the pub until it's all over. It's not too much to ask!
