Brown Hairstreak
Today I had another long walk with Butterfly Conservation. One of the target species to see was this Brown Hairstreak. My fieldguide says it's one of the last butterflies to appear each year and one of Britain's rarest species. It is also very elusive, as it spends most of its life out of sight, either high in a tree canopy or tucked away in hedgerows. I've never seen one before and with that write up feel very lucky to have got a clear shot of it!
Nothing else to tell you. I'm exhausted and looking forward to an early night ;))
Enjoy your Sunday evening and I hope the week starts well for you xx
