Lime kilns
I don't know whether to call this an emergency blip or an experiment.
We were attending the second showing of Terry Abraham's film Cumbrian Red: Saving our Red Squirrels. As we sat in the cafe at Rheged waiting to be admitted to the Imax cinema I walked across to the glass wall and took a shot of the Lime Kilns. Obviously, they predate Rheged, and as I remember thing keeping them was part of the requirements to get planning permission.
The film was spectacular, telling clearly the battle various groups are having to wage to try to protect the indigenous Red Squirrel. Penrith and District Red Squirrel group featured in the film and the foyer before and after the film was a great fundraising opportunity. See Clickychick's blip.
