Many Hands…….

Many hands make light work …..of dismantling mannequins in the window of Wilkies dress shop in Morningside Road which has recently been permanently shut just yards from a big luxury bathroom shop which has also gone out of business.  It will be interesting to see what happens to these premises- coffee shops do very well in leafy Morningside and Bruntsfield, just saying!

I was in Morningside to shop at the M&S there rather than Princes Street , which is, at the moment, my no go area if at all possible. I popped into the library to see if they had a copy of ‘The Stromness Dinner’ by Pete Benson which was prominently displayed in the Stromness bookshop while I was there in residence but which I declined to buy for several reasons.  Not only was it not on the shelves in Morningside, they didn’t even have it in any of the other Edinburgh libraries, the librarian and I coming  to the conclusion it was only available on the niche market. I’ve just bought it on Amazon.

It has been another very warm dry day, bright with sunshine at times. Daughter#2 who has had the week off to teach trauma managed to slip out and have a cup of tea on the patio with me. A Magnum ice cream was on offer but was refused- how could she!
At various times in the afternoon, I have been entertained by the reaction of the crowds to various street artists performing on Middle Meadow Walk . If the noise get overwhelming I can just go inside and shut the door.
