A day out at the Broadstairs Folk Week. Not the easiest to get to or park so we just go for one of the days.
The town was buzzing, music coming out of most pubs yet the beach was relatively quiet. The were large mounds of seaweed piled up on much of the sand, a phenomenon that affects much of the north Kent coast.
After lunch, sat on the harbour arm, we strolled up to see Tim Eady and friends at the Queen’s Road Baptist Church. A fine venue for a sublime musician. Look him up if you haven’t heard him.
After that concert we had some tea at the Pavilion, walked around a bit and came back to the Pavilion for food before the second concert in the same venue
The main event was Home Service who used to be fronted by John Tams and are now led by Bob Fox both of War Horse fame. A wonderful, loud show. Their support was Dave Ellis and Boo Howard, a duo we’d never heard of before who played some superlative music.
What a great night and a very fine day of musical entertainment.
