Dirk was here

Fortune smiled on me and the drapes and hardware arrived from Amazon on time for Dirk the handyman to come and get my office window blacked out.  He's old and slow-moving, but he knows how to get the job done.  Now I'm more prepared for the ghastly heat.  It's 88 degrees here right now and the apartment is still relatively comfortable.

I'm worried about tomorrow, though, when I have to drive to dialysis and leave my car to heat up in the open parking lot.  It will be dreadful getting into it to go home.  Maybe I will get lucky and get one of the few parking spots that are shaded by trees.
