Portraiture

I don't know how universal my experience is, but friends that know I like touting a camera around always seem to expect me to be able to take photos of them for events or family portraits but are always very camera shy when it comes to trying to practice and learn the techniques needed. I'm therefore very grateful to Tassie for being willing to sit and stare at a camera for ages while I hauled lights around, tried various lenses, postures etc, finally discovering that the best shot I took was the first one I took to calibrate everything in the first place! I think this works well because of her enigmatic, Mona Lisa smile - you can't plan that. I'd be interested in others' comments though.
