Ambitious. Physical. Too many errors.

France Scotland pre RWC2023 game. Exciting. Frustrating! Scotland spent a lot of time chasing the game after a strong lead in early phase. And far too many penalties from Scotland - yellow for scrum half at end of first half was costly. And two scores by France in first 10 mins of second half was painful. At 69 min Scotland pulled it back to 27-22. Big intervention at 73 min, a try 27-27…. and sadly Finn missed conversion. At 78 min scrum collapsed. France kicked a penalty, and that ultimately gave them the win 30-27. Really disappointed Scotland didn’t get “the W.”

Younger son’s rugby team was back in action. A preseason game in the Borders with a team in league above. Three 30 minute games; won two. And very narrowly lost the third encounter. He’s coming tomorrow; we’ll get chat then.
