Ballybricken
This morning we had to go into Waterford. We parked at Ballybricken Green. A good collection of shops around a lovely "village green" complete with bandstand. Unfortunately, not at all photogenic as there's heavy traffic all around. I only took one photo.
But we did find a small shop selling a decent selection of fruit and veg, much of it plastic free, as well as plants and flowers - greengrocers have been difficult to find locally - when we ask, it seems the only option is expensive, fancy, organic "farm shops" or the supermarkets. I bought some local plums, freshly picked this morning, some tomatoes, and some runner beans that look good - remains to be seen how stringy they are.
After a cuppa in a very pleasant and friendly little cafe, we went to find screws, rawl plugs and other DIY supplies. Walking across a road, I misjudged the kerb and sprawled full length. Fortunately no serious damage, except to my dignity, but I have a bruise on my knee and some sprained muscles in the right shoulder. Bad timing - the back was just starting to feel much better!
This afternoon I have spent more time in the sewing room. The latest quilt top is now quilted. I brought it downstairs for W's opinion on the binding - photo in extras. I know what we think, but happy to accept opinions - the fabric options are tucked under the top end - turquoise or dark blue?
