Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2023 Tuesday — Who are You

This is a small gathering of the larger group of women I met last winter and joined with to meet once a week on Thursday mornings for BSF in Morro Bay. It was the first time Morro Bay has had a BSF group.

We have been on summer break since mid-May. We got together today to have lunch at the Bayside Cafe in Morro Bay and to get to know each other a little better.

Most of us didn’t remember each other’s names. So first we just went around the table to tell everyone again our name. Then we did another lap around the table so each gal could tell her story. Not one of us has lived our lives here on California’s Central Coast. Each one of us has been transplanted. Most of us have come here to retire. The laughter, the sighs, the questions, and the silent pondering were nourishing. The stories were interesting and meaningful.

Sitting at that table are three retired educators, a retired nurse, several people who still work part-time, an artist,
and one who works at San Simeon’s famous Hearst Castle as a tour guide. Very few talked about kids or grandkids; no, they spoke about their journey and the walk of life they have lived. Each one knows Jesus as her Lord and Savior and is in love with Him.

This was a very satisfying time together; the food was quite good too. Our waiter was delightful.

From California’s Central Coast,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
