Children should be seen…

And not heard…. Said the Victorians.

The tourist theme continues with a visit to Beamish, an open air museum.  We probably should have arrived a bit earlier to see more than we did but we did manage to see a good chunk of it.  We even enjoyed fish and chips cooked with coal.  Trams and trolley buses also take you around the grounds.  We did get one at the beginning but sometimes it was quicker to walk as you couldn’t guarantee that you would be able to get on the next one.

I also forgot to mention yesterday that we visited the famous Barter Books in Alnwick, an amazing second hand book shop set in an old Victorian train station.  Another one to visit again and spend more time there.
