Prostel’s First Mountain…
… La Grande Chenalette, 2,890m on the Swiss Italian border above the Grand St. Bernard Pass. He did so well climbing up the rocks and ladders on this dramatic peak. We went up early so had hardly anyone else on the mountain and the view of the Mont Blanc Range, especially the rock pyramid of the Grandes Jorasses, was fantastic from the summit. A couple of extras, including one of my favourite views of the Grand Combin reflected in the small lakes just off the Chenalette path.
A great day with swimming in the Gouille afterwards then it was just too hot to do anything. 30 degrees here at 17:30, unheard of!
