Unexpected

After a drive to the post office we stopped by at the boat landing at Waterfront Park. We watched the river for awhile but decided to leave after only seeing a few seagulls. While backing out I thought something “different” flew in to the top of a nearby lamppost. I slowly positioned the car underneath to get a better look. We couldn’t tell what it was but knew it was definitely not a seagull. Could it be an osprey? • I drove back to our original parking space and got the camera out, hoping the bird was still there. Thankfully I got two shots off before it flew away across the river. A Cooper’s Hawk, I believe! • What an unexpected surprise :) • Happy Wednesday Y’all!
