The Ness Islands
These are two small tree covered islands in the middle of the River Ness, not far out of the centre of Inverness. Our Victorian forebarers had the foresight to plant many trees, some deciduous, some coniferous on these islands which they also connected with footbridges. I suppose it's an arboretum. The place was busy today with tourists.
The other day a tourist stopped me in the street, and said:
“Where is the North Sea?” I pointed to my left. “No. I was up at the castle and saw a big sea in the opposite direction.”
“That’s the Atlantic Ocean,” I didn’t say. She had made her mind up, so I could not dissuade her.
I’ve included some extra shots.
