Every cloud......

Today started off really badly when Sihle called to tell me her Mum passed away yesterday evening. There are all sorts of complications with her and the children now because they're away in the USA, and she needs to fly to Harare for the funeral leaving the children behind in the states. Luckily she's managed to get a flight but it's going to take 31 hours to get there. Hopefully she makes it in time.

Today at work was also not great, a couple of child protection issues. A finance meeting that went from being face-to-face to remote - I hate remote meetings they always remind me of Covid and shielding.

Ended well though, Brenda came round this evening, fresh from her trip to Edinburgh with a huge box of shortbread for me and then Cathie phoned to say that she's going to come over tomorrow evening . Rionne also had good news, Ciara got three A*'s and is on her way to Cambridge. So yes, every cloud does have a silver lining.
