Life through my eyes

Dragonfly

This is the same dragonfly that came in on Wednesday. Yesterday I tried taking it outside but it wouldn't/couldn't fly. It stayed on my hand for ages, and spent last night on the plant next to the photos of Mr T. It's not the first time I've had a dragonfly take it's last breaths on my hand. An extra with it 'kissing' my wedding ring.

There are a few quotes I have regarding dragonflies and the symbolism, they resonated with me last year and very much again now:

The soul always knows what to do to heal itself. The challenge is to silence the mind.

Legend has it that dragonflies were given an extra set of wings so that angels could ride on their backs. When you see this winged beauty it's an exquisite reminder that an angel from heaven is visiting you.

Having flown the earth for over 300 million years, dragonflies symbolise our ability to overcome times of hardship. They can remind us  to take time to reconnect with our own strength, courage and happiness.

Dragonflies are the keepers of dreams, the energy within that sees all of our true potential and ability. Dragonflies inspire spirituality and creativity, they help us on the path of discovery and enlightenment. They remind us that anything is possible.

The dragonfly totem carries the wisdom of transformation and adaptability in life. As spirit animal, the dragonfly is connected to the symbolism of change and light. When the dragonfly shows up in your life it may remind you to bring a bit more joy and lightness into your life. Those who have this animal as a totem may be inclined to delve deep into their true emotions and shine their true colours.
