The Rite of Spring

We had tickets for Pina Bausch's The Rite of Spring, courtesy of a friend. Performed by 34 dancers (17 makes, 17 female) from 14 different African countries, it was extremely powerful, energetic, theatrical, and totally gripping. The stage had been spread with soil during the interval, adding an element of earthiness..

The first part, Common Ground, was rather weak in comparison.

After that, we went to the Edinburgh Street Food area for a bite and a pint and bumped into someone we'd met in the Faroes.
