Loch Cuin, Dervaig

After another hot sunny day of working in the garden J and I walked to the loch just a few minutes from home. The view in all directions was beautiful. Over the loch to the right we could see the new houses sat on the hillside with the white church tower showing above the tree line. Behind us a hillside covered in trees with two buzzards enjoying the evening sun and to our left the narrows of Loch Cuin, as seen above. This narrow opening of the loch, where the tree lines meet, is a dangerous place to sail through, the only boat we are likely to see is a local fisherman's dingy.

The salt marsh we walked over was dry, unusual. The sea pinks lay in a carpet before us and a few yards away a noisy oyster catcher was telling us 'not to come any closer'. Fair enough, we are just visiting.
