Finally finished
A huge sigh of relief this afternoon, when we finally emailed the download link to J's pre-recorded presentation for tomorrow's 1Voice event. It's part of the annual residential weekend of a small charity supporting young people using alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) and their families, which has been part of our lives since J was ten. This year's event is focusing on filmmaking, and J's opening presentation tells something of her journey into filmmaking, which was to a significant extent initiated at similar 1Voice events twenty years ago, as well as explaining a bit about stop motion animation and how she engages with it using assistive technology and human support. She's worked at it on and off for several weeks to prepare the text and powerpoint slides, but it's very slow going for her; she needed quite a lot of help to finish it, so it's kept us both busy a lot of the time since Thursday (which was the day she was supposed to be sending it). We've edited it into a film, though the images are all stills, which means the audio recording and visuals are saved as an mp4 file and the organisers just have to press play. The photo is of the finished edit just before we rendered and exported it.
Now I have several days of back blips to catch up with, some of which are still in the cameras.
