Happy Birthday!
We celebrated my mother-in-law's birthday at The Pier on Solomon's Island this afternoon. She was especially pleased with a photo of her mom that my husband asked me to restore for her. It was great fun to hang out with my husband's big family. I heard that the best way to cook crabcakes is to freeze them first. I don't know if that is a Baltimore thing, though, since that advice hailed from there. Either way, the food, and company were wonderful. Happy, happy birthday, Evelyn.
The extras are the before and after of a photo of Evelyn's mom. She was tragically murdered when my husband was just one year old. The before photo is Evelyn's favorite (and best) photo of her mom. The after is my restoration. It could use some more work, but this is where I landed. I had to hand draw quite a bit of the image. (I added the cherry blossoms in the background because she was from the DC area.)
