On the way out to dinner

A definite smell of smoke in the air all day, the wind must have changed blowing it in from the east. 50% of the 150,000 residents of Kelowna, just 4 hours away from us, are either evacuated, or under evacuation readiness. With no rain in sight...........

D&A, we met them in PV back in April, live just across the border from us and they suggested we all get together for dinner one night. Well, last night was the night.
They were early for our 7pm reservation at the Bow & Stern, partly due to their Nexus passes getting them in the fast track lane to go through border inspection. (The boss and I have Nexus too, and thankfully, not everybody does, otherwise there'd be no bloody point would there?)

My ploy of letting the the BBQ grates sit in vinegar for a week certainly worked , the amount of "crud" that came off was huge. Now all that's left to do is to run over them with a wire brush, lightly coat them in oil and put them back, on the heat to season. Job done!

Ah well...
