Up, up and away!
I was at Cae Glas Park for the 6.00am launch of hot air balloons from the Balloon Festival. About eight balloons were launched and more tethered because of wind high up (especially the alien balloon in my extra).
It was interesting watching them being inflated and then slowly floating above us and then away from the park.
Later that morning they had a big screen in the park amongst all the stalls and rides which were part of the carnival. We met O and I there and were ready to watch the final of the Women's World Cup. Unfortunately just as it was about to start, amplified live bands began to perform. The sound on the screen was turned off so there was no atmosphere. Several people complained and were told to go to a pub to watch it. It was a shame as it would have been good fun.
We went to F's house to watch it as he lives by the park. It was disappointing that they lost 1-0 to Spain but was still a terrific achievement to get that far.
At the end my daughter-in-law C came with the baby and then the four of them went to the park to watch the gymnastic and dance displays. I'd had enough by that stage and came home!
