Our Street
This is my entry for the Blip Landscape theme. It's also to record the addition of solar panels to our roofs. If you look closely in the centre of the blip you can just make out the scaffolding which still hasn't come down, and the panels. It's been a good weather day for solar. I wanted to blip the moor heather in the sunshine but it went in and out of the clouds as I walked across, so I've gone with this one instead.
Our street was built in the 1800s in sections. The gap next to our house is where a footpath goes down worn steps to a lane which, in Victorian times, would have been busy with local folks heading to and from work in the mills down in the village. The mills have been replaced with housing estates at different times whilst we have been living here, which is forty years now. One of the arteries in to the village comes over the moor from Keighley and down the top edge of the fields you can see behind our street. Across that road are the woodlands of the St Ives Estate.
