A simple day
We are on holiday to relax and recuperate, so we have absolutely nothing planned. Our campsite is as simple as they come, and to us it is perfect. Hot shower, clean toilet and lots of space. The lady in charge is lovely. Several times she has been to check on us, and too apologise for the noise (it is a farm - and really not noisy) but how nice of her.
Two campers left today which leaves just us and one other. We didn't wake until gone 9. And that was after an early night! We had a slow relaxed breakfast outside, and the sun tried hard to shine.
At about 11.30 we drove to Tenbury Wells, our closest small town, which is actually just over the border into Worcestershire. We parked on the street and found a cafe (priorities!) with cake too! Then to tesco for a few essentials, before heading back.
Spent the afternoon sitting reading. It was quite chilly outside but I have blankets so was happier to be out in the fresh air wrapped up a bit!
At 6 we decided to go for a walk across the fields. Jon had a map of the local area. The sky was getting darker so after half an hour we turned back and retraced our steps. A few rickety stiles, and the footpaths were not clear at all, but the fields had already harvested.
Cooked dinner, and now we've decided to move indoors. Just finished the book I brought with me (Anita Shreve - A Wedding in December) and am about to start The Stone Circle - Elly Griffiths. I'm going to be sad when I've finished this series!
The photo is of a huge chainsaw sculpture of an owl by a shepherd's hut which is, I assume, a holiday rental, at the end of the caravan field. It shows as the Hoot Hut on the map!
We have books, beer and popcorn for evening enetertainment. Perfect!
