Vulcania

Traveling eastwards I have stopped for a night in the Massif Central. Where there is an impressive chain of extinct volcanos.

At 1465m the Puy de Dome isn't the highest one in the chain but it has the most impact from a distance. I have seen it on the horizon on several trips in previous years but hadn't gone up close before.

There's this little train to take you up to the top. The queue and lack of time put me off. Onward eastwards...
