Homeward bound …

After our final Irish breakfast we walked into the city centre in brilliant sunshine. Call me old fashioned but I had written some postcards and needed stamps! Social media has almost killed the holiday postcard industry. (The costs of cards and stamps is also eye watering!)
The ferry left Belfast on time. It was a smooth crossing despite the strong wind that meant we had a tug to assist the berthing In Cairnryan.

The 350 miles from the port to home was a very smooth drive. The only short queue we encountered was on the A75 at Dumfries.

We have really enjoyed our west of Scotland and Northern Ireland holiday.

Despite dire warnings to carry ID en route to and from Belfast none was requested at any point. However, we and our luggage, were screened by “X-ray” when boarding the return crossing.
