Glimpses of Me

Even The Kitten Was Not Spared

Good day y'all!!! One more day and its the weekend, so hang in there!

Going back to stay at my mum's place today.. Last night we were helping one of Mr M's nephew with his homework of "The Human Skeletal System". As an incentive, I told him by nighttime, we'd have a recitation.. I'd give him a hundred pesos (our monetary denomination), and deduct 10 for every mistake! He was doing quite well during practice but seemed to have gone mentally blocked by recitation time and everyone was kidding him about him owing me money instead! Haha!! But by today, he said he remembered everything at school and his teacher even praised him, called him a 'Scientist'! LOL He even asked me to take a video of him and he was able to recite the bones from skull to phalanges (head to toes) without a mistake! Well done Allen!

While waiting for a cab around the corner, I noticed this little one sitting in the corner, not moving.. Oh what a sorry sight!! She was so malnourished, again matted blood on the head, if you look closer, bloodied eyes as well, and more scratches on the face.. Reminded me again of the Stolen Childhood, even this little kitten wasn't spared from the hardships of life.. No signs of other siblings, neither was a sign of parents.. When she started to stand and tried to walk, she was all wobly.. I bet she got kicked quite a lot of time.. Nothing much I could do as I think she was owned by the poor family living in a shanty nearby.. Cats are often overlooked here, not much of a priority and concern like we do in Britain..

On a much lighter note, Mr M and I stopped by the mall to bring something home for dinner as relatives from my mum's side will be coming over.. While at the mall, Mr M didn't want to go up and down stairs and wanted us to use the escalators. At first I thought it was out of concern for me, only to find out later that he had trouble going down stairs because of his sore legs from playing basketball and doing those Winning Shots of his yesterday! Haha! Bless him!

It was quite a busy night! Most cousins and their family and an aunt came round to see us, everybody pitched in bringing food and stuff, alcohol flowed as well! Men were outside with the beers, kids were inside with their gadgets and the women flitting in and out serving their men, chatting, and serviing the kids! Typical innit! Overall it was fun!

Hugs and Kisses everyone!
