Clava Cairns and Culloden Battlefield

Another beautiful day and here are two of the highlights,  Clava Cairns, a 4,000 year old site with lots of standing stones and three burial chambers which were once roofed in wood and thatch.  The tall flat stone was the inspiration for the one in Outlander.  Culloden Battlefield (extra) is to the Scots as Gettysburg Battlefield is to Americans.  It is sacred space.  There is a wonderful visitors center and are those spirit orbs on the wall?  Culloden is a very haunted landscape.  You can read a brief description of it here.  The Ghosts of Culloden.
