Invasive Thugs
Two invasive garden thugs - every gardener's nightare. Despite its attractive and innocent looking white trumpets GreateIr Bindweed, Calystegia sepium, spreads rapidly and strangles anything it can overwhelm. Alternative names include white witches hat and devil's guts.
The lower leaves are those of Ground Elder, also known as Bishop Weed. It also spreads rapidly by means of extensive rhizomes - even a minute fragment left in the ground can regenerate making it very difficult to eliminate.
