Karearea - NZ Falcon.

.. which unfortunately is on the list of endangered species.  I took a friend  to Wingspan, the National Bird of Prey Centre.  It's a small facility which is currently  being expanded on a new site.   We heard about their research based conservation, and education work  and watched a fabuous flyng display.   The main is a female Karearea - they weigh about 500gms while the male is much smaller (extra1) weighing about 250gms
