Tadpoles

There are lots of tadpoles in the pond where we are staying. It's nature red in tooth and and claw as I have seen tadpoles nibbling at a water snail though the latter still remain numerous. There are lots of newts too which I expect eat the tadpoles. On the right you can dimly see the steps which our hosts use to enter the pond and swim. I won't be joining them as I'm not sure I could hold my own with all the beasties. Sitting in the garden under a huge swaying umbrella as I write this. Later we'll squeeze through the gap in the fence and go for a walk.
