Enniscorthy

The weather took another U turn.  After yesterday's rain, today we had lovely sunny weather.  

We went in to Enniscorthy to look at blinds for the garden room - sorely needed on sunny days like today - I've had to move seats in order to blip.  We had been considering thermal blinds (for the insulation benefit in winter), but in the end decided these were just a bit too heavy.  We've opted for some blinds that are heavy, but not overwhelming.

After that, we went back to Smyths, where W found wood preservative, but I didn't find the fabric adhesive I need.  I was directed down to a craft shop, but unfortunately (or maybe fortunately for our bank balance) it was shut for lunch.  I passed through the Market Square.

Here I found this monument, to the 1798 rebellion, a major battle of which took place at Vinegar Hill, just outside Enniscorthy. This is Father John Murphy with a young pikeman. The monument dates back to 1907/8.

Earlier, W had Husky rather ignominiously tipped up on his nose.(see extra).  We had noted that he was steering a distinctly curved path.  This was due to the fact that his wheels were totally caked up with grass clippings - the right rear more so than the left, so he was constantly veering to the left.
