Snowy Egret

We went for a walk through the Domaine de Certes this morning. This is a large nature reserve on the edge of the Arcachon Basin. 
This Snowy Egret was fishing in on one of the water channels. Before I managed to get my camera out, it plucked an eel out of the water and swallowed it whole. I was hoping it might perform the same thing again, but I was out of luck.
Afterwards we walked to Port d'Audenge for refreshments (see extra), as it was very hot again today.
We are now back at base and the weather appears to be cooling off.
